This workshop is oriented toward contemporary historical narratives in the History of Mathematics, especially those that make use of cultural factors, such as ongoing traditions within a certain cultural milieu, and idiosycratic characteristics, as well as recent developments in digital humanities for the benefit of history of science and mathematics.

It is our goal to further investigate such aspects of research, that invite scholars concerned with different aspects of the history of premodern mathematics, to introduce to each other historiographical approaches, methodological tools, contexts for inverstigation that further the interdisciplinary field of History of Mathematics.

Our workshop is related to similar efforts held by collegues around the world to bring together and highlight such initiatives and strengthen the contact and collaborations between historians of mathematics.
